Evaluation of sustainable management systems: potential and application in Flanders

Sustainable management systems are user-friendly instruments that can be used by businesses to adjust their management practice to the social and ecological principles of sustainable development. This project will contribute to a stronger anchoring of the ideas of corporate social responsibility in Flanders. Synergies with existing initiatives will be developed.
The main objectives of the research project are:

• the development of an evaluation methodology focusing on sustainable management systems (SMS);
• the evaluation of (international) experiece in sustainable management systems by applying the developed methodology;
• the set-up of policy recommendations and guidance for SMS in Flanders.
